HST Block of the Month

Okay so I am trying this Half Square Triangle Block of the Month http://www.incolororder.com/p/block-of-month.html and was having difficulties making the triangles meet up right... so I redid it and although it is better it's still a little bit off.. so I'm thinking that it must just take practice. Please pardon the tinkerbell table .. haha.. it's my daughters and makes a great sewing table..

The smaller of the two blocks is the first block I did and the larger block is the second one I did. I didn't cut down the blocks to see if it would matter as far as the squares meeting up better.. and although it didn't seem to matter so much about the size it does look good! This block is the January Block. I'm a little behind but it looks like it will be fun. Thanks Kadybug for suggestion!!

Beginning Quilter

I am almost done with my very first quilt and I am so proud of it! I am making a quilt intended for my youngest daugher; Rayne (19 months) and so far I think it is a success. I had layed it down on the floor last night putting all my pins in it so that I could sew the top quilt to the cotton and base of the quilt (yeap I'm a newbie so I don't have all the correct terminology down). Rayne began to crawl all over it and jumped around dancing on it and twirling so I think that it met with her approval! Yay Me!
